Recycling?

Dear Residents of The Historic Core,

On the corner of Spring and 4th St.

What do you do to recycle cans, plastic bottles, etc? I notice people often leave their recyclables next to a public trash can. Are there people that actually come by to pick up the recyclables? Or do they just get thrown out with the regular trash?

What I've Been Eatly Recently XIII

One of my favorite Mexican places to eat in downtown is at Marisco's Ensenada, a medium sized restaurant in the Alexandria Hotel.

Outside the Window

I was working at my desk the other day and saw something a little off pattern that I noticed above my computer, right outside the window (that is my cat's butt on the printer):

I then stood up to see what the hell was going on.

As the lift raised more, and when we sort of got close to eye level, we then waved hi at each other.

Writers Strike in the Historic Core

On Wednesday a few days ago, I left my building at about 6:15 am to go to work and saw some writer's holding up their signs walking around 4th St. between Spring and Main.

Here are some pictures I took of them on Spring and 4th:

Here is a post Ed did on BlogDowntown about what happened later on that day.

Anti-War March

An anti-war march passed through the historic core of downtown Los Angeles yesterday.

I was working at my desk, and from a distance I was able to hear the crowd make their way down Broadway. They passed by my building and here are some shots I took from outside my window:

What I've Been Eating Recently I

One of my favorite local Mexican places to eat at is that one place close to Spring and 5th. I think its named Ensenada something or other. I forgot. Ed introduced me to it.

I love how the beans with cheese and tortilla chips they give you as a free appetizer. And then they give you a slice of melon as a desert.

Sushi on Spring

Word had it (for a while!) that a sushi restaurant was going to open up on Spring and 4th. I have always wondered when it would actually open, but never saw any sign of anything moving towards... opening. I was walking down that area the other day, and it looks like things are moving towards things happening.

I have walked passed this door hundreds of times and it is never open. I just had to go inside to take pictures.

Outside some window on Spring St

A few weeks ago, I was at this one art gallery (I forgot the name) on the corner of Spring and 5th people watching outside the window. Nothing exciting was going on. I just wanted to watch people who didn't know they were being watched. Also took a few photos.

I almost dropped my camera on their heads. I freaked out, left the place and walked home.

Thats all.
