The view outside my window at work:

Wednesday, May 21, 2008

My neighbor Judith has three yorkshire terriers. I have taken care of them every now and then when she is out of town. I usually just keep them at my place because my cats generally get along with them. Well, C-FU will hang out with them. Where as Cassie and Hermes will watch them from a distance and hide until they get used to them. Give them more time and I am almost sure they can be one big cat'n dog happy family.

Recently, the yorkshire terriers had their hair cut, and my cats have been more responsive to them. Particularly Hermes, who has never tried to initiate contact wit them before. Here he is trying to carefully sniff Nicky's butt.

I spy outside my window...Neighbor Joe, sans gym bag and The Rubster. Will I catch him picking is nose? Is he wearing a white tank top underneath?

Open Letter II

Dear Asshole Neighbor,

Please do not throw your your cigarette butts out your window. I do not want your trash on my window sill. What if you flicked it out the window and it fell all the way down and landed in some poor shmuck's coffee?

Fuck you,

Your Angry Neighbor

Outside the Window

I was working at my desk the other day and saw something a little off pattern that I noticed above my computer, right outside the window (that is my cat's butt on the printer):

I then stood up to see what the hell was going on.

As the lift raised more, and when we sort of got close to eye level, we then waved hi at each other.

Anti-War March

An anti-war march passed through the historic core of downtown Los Angeles yesterday.

I was working at my desk, and from a distance I was able to hear the crowd make their way down Broadway. They passed by my building and here are some shots I took from outside my window:

Parking lot

Hermes

This is my cat Hermes. During most of the day, he likes to spend his time looking out the window watching traffic, pedestrians and birds. I wonder what goes on in his little cat head when he sees all these things that are not a part of his evolutionary story.

I just got off the phone with 911.

I heard a woman screaming outside my window. I got up from my computer to take a look outside, and found a car that was running parked in the middle of the street with some man chasing a woman around the car in circles.

I quickly reached for the phone to call 911 and when I came back to the window, I saw the man drive off in the car.

It kind of looked like a car jacking. But who knows really.

I have lost track of how many times I have had to phone up 911 in this town (I have lived in the Arts District, Hollywood, and Historic Core of downtown).

Transient Murals

A few weeks ago the Continental Gallery had an evening of exhibiting anti-war poster art. As a part of the show, temporary murals were being drawn onto a big wall on 4th St with a projector. Each picture lasted about a few minutes. This is what I caught outside my window:
